I have been teaching piano about 28 years.  My goal of teaching is to share my passion of music and knowledge with students.  Each student has different ideas, creative abilities, and ways to express music. My job is to help and guide each student for the development of their musical abilities such as their practice habits, technical aspects and individual journey with music.

 

Akiko’s students have received numerous top prizes at such competitions as Anselmo International Music competition in NY, 23rd International Chopin Piano Competition in Asia Finalist, MTNA Junior State Competition, Steinway Junior Piano Competition, MTAC Sacramento Memorial Scholarship Audition for Piano Trio, Go for the Gold Competition, Crescendo International Music Competition, Tell School of Music Keyboard Division International Piano Competition, Sacramento Youth Symphony Premier Orchestra Soloist, Chopin Competition in Asia, and PYPA Piano Festival, 2022 Seattle international piano competition Gold medal, ENKOR International Music Competition Third Prize, United States Music Competition First Place.

Akiko's student entered Shepherd School of Music Class of Professor Jon Kimora Parker. Accepted university and Conservatories are Manhattan School of Music, Eastman School of Music, Cleveland Institute of Music, Northwestern Bienen School of Music, Mannes school of music, Peabody institute John’s Hopkins University, Rice University.

​２８年のピアノ教師の経験は私の人生の中でとても大切なものです。教える際に大切にしていることは、音楽への情熱を分かち合うことです。生徒一人一人または保護者の方々の音楽に対する考え方を大切にした上で彼らの能力、表現力、練習方法、曲の解釈を年齢に沿った方法でレッスンを行なっています。コンクール、マスタークラスへの参加以外にも生徒のニーズに合った検定試験、ピアノフェスティバルなどへの参加にも力を注いでいます。生徒の入賞したコンクールは下記です。
